Hey Baby Smile

About

I’ve been a waitress at a truck stop and I’ve cleaned bathrooms at a Civil War battlefields. I once tried out for roller derby, which made me mush too familiar with gravity and is something I found best left to those with more courage.

I played woman’s semi-pro football; we lost our first game 100-3. I’ve lost my Dad and my sister and the pain was something that I still haven’t found the words to describe.

I like to surf, but I am horrible at it. I have sevenĀ  nieces and nephews and they call me Anny Baby. I have a bit of trouble keeping all the birthdays straight.

I have loved photography for as long as I can remember and I was one of those weird kids in high school who carried a camera around. Now all the kids in high school do, so I consider myself a bit of a trendsetter.

I’ve worked as a photojournalist and a picture editor at newspapers for over 20 years. If you haven’t bought a newspaper in awhile, go do it. It’s cheaper than a cup of coffee and it’s good for you.

I fell in love with a South Carolina boy named Dale, who is smart and funny and my best friend. We called our honeymoon “the biscuits and gravy tour” – we went to Dollywood, the Grand Ole Opry and Graceland.

I talk to my Mom every day.

This is my story.

I’d like to tell yours.
